The president of a Mosque in France has warned that every mosque should worry about its future.
Mohamed Benali of Gennevilliers Mosque near Paris is being threatened with the closure of his mosque, which is considered to be ‘contrary to the values for the Republic’ by Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
The Imam is accused of saying women lack modesty and was summoned on the 8th of July “as part of the fight against separatism and radicalisation”
Benali has said the imam was not an employee of the mosque and has made a complaint against Darmanin for abuse of power
This development comes weeks after an imam was sacked for reading verses from the Quran, also deemed ‘contrary to the values for the Republic’
