I’ve been back in Pakistan over ONE MONTH now!
SURPRISE!🎉 it seems I loved Pakistan so much, I had to return 😉But this time, instead of travelling across the country, I’ve decided to base myself here Indefinitely!
And this time I didn’t come alone, I brought my sweet little angel boy @winston.sirchill 🐶 ❤️ Who is equally excited to be here and have some new adventures with mum!
Seeing as the world continues to go through turbulent times, especially in terms of travel, I’ve decided to sit still for a while and wait it out. I still have a lot of editing to catch up on, and what better place to be than a country I absolutely love and feel at home in❤️ perfect timing to escape the Canadian winters 😜
I’ll be looking at doing a variety of local and personal projects across the country, and also getting more involved with the community. I’d also love to travel around a bit with Winston, and see all the things I missed the first time around! The possibilities are endless and I’m so thrilled to see what comes up!
And this time I have a LOT more time to hang around and do cool fun stuff, so please help me and comment below some suggestions on things to do/people to meet, places to see. I would love to hear your recommendations🙏
I’ve never been much of a city person. I can enjoy it for a short time, but where I really thrive, is in nature. I prefer wide-open spaces, fresh air, mountain top views and lush vegetation. I value the sound of birds chirping, passing livestock, & the calm serenity of quiet stillness.
Shifting to Lahore has been quite a contrast to what I’m accustomed to. Although I’m very happy with the location base I chose, there are certain things I must follow to keep balance. Life started to get a bit overwhelming. The task of shifting was more challenging than I thought. The endless things to do consumed all of my energy, and soon I found myself unable to relax and a big ball of stress.
It’s easy to get caught up in this fast-paced world. Forgetting who we are in the mix of it all and losing our way. Allowing distractions to become our coping mechanisms and norm, unable to find joy in the present moment. Sometimes we need to hit the reset button and ground ourselves back into our centre.
This last week I was invited to a friends wedding in Chitral. I didn’t hesitate to accept the offer! It was exactly what I needed. It’s been one year since I was in the north & the mountains were calling! Without the stress of endless “to-do” lists, house responsibilities or work, I was able to find my stillness again. With my heart feeling free & in my happy place, my soul felt at ease and I felt like me again.
We don’t always have the opportunity to run away to the mountains, or temporarily leave our busy lives. But it’s important to recognize when things get too much and to be able to take a break and pause. It’s best to implement a daily self-care routine so you don’t get to this point.
For me, I had an interruption in my system because of the big move so I lost my steps. Running, meditation, daily prayer, yoga, healthy food, Winston cuddles & reading, are all things that help keep me in a consistent positive momentum. It’s not only beneficial for my physical health but equally important for my mental & spiritual as well. What are some daily customs that help keep you aligned?
