Muslims In Albania, Once A Minority, Now The Majority

Now Muslims in Albania are growing rapidly along with freedom in carrying out their worship. For 40 years (1946 – 1985) they were in fear and pressure by a hard-leaning Kamnis regime which suppressed every religious person and places of worship.

Now in Albania, 70% of the population is Muslim. some adhere to the Sunni school, while others adhere to the teachings of bektashi, which are infused with orthodox Christian elements. the main rituals: oral remembrance and khafi remembrance. On the Rumelia Peninsula, which is now called the Balkans, eight million Muslims live who adhere to the Sunni Hanafi school of thought
