RAMADAN KAREEM | Rosie Gabrielle
Every year, for one month, Muslims from around the world partake in the holy month of Ramadan. It’s a time of reflection, gratitude, connection, giving and intention. It’s essentially a reset and realignment in your life that helps focus and get you back on track both physically and spiritually.
For one month, people will practice a strict schedule of fasting from sun up to sundown, abstaining from all food and water during this time. This is to focus ones’ self on having a deeper connection through prayer, having less distractions and to have compassion for those who go hungry.
The universe brought me to Pakistan, not only to challenge myself to let go of the last remaining traces of pain and ego but also to show me the way.
Some will practice Namaz (prayer) 5 times a day, seeking forgiveness, praising God, praying peace for others, and connecting themselves at a deeper level.
It is required to give Zakat (charity) to those in need and to be more conscious of others and their needs.
Bad habits and addictions, and things that distract oneself are also stopped.
All of this is done with the purest and best intentions to cleanse themselves of negative energy, find peace in their life, and become closer to our Creator.
I think this is one of the most beautiful and commendable practices one can do in life.
Now that we’ve all slowed down a bit, perhaps we can take inspiration from this blessed time. Why don’t we all take this next month to live with intention and connect at a deeper level?
The level of dedication and devotion from Muslim people to attain peace is truly admirable, it is one of the things that lead me to my acceptance of Islam. They have been raised with this routine and is a fundamental in their life.
To be Muslim means to submit your will to the will of God’s (we are not in control and He knows best) and to attain peace in your life through connection and right action.
I encourage everyone to aspire to have these life goals. In these unprecedented times, we’re seeing more than ever what shifts need to be made in our consciousness, and I think the world needs more peace, love and connection ❤️ Let’s all join in in this month of Ramadan, to reset and connect. And inshaAllah (God willing ) we will have more peace in our lives.
Assalamualaikum🙏
