From a chance encounter with a stranger to the stage at TEDxFortMcmurray, Kiran invites the audience into her world and that of the Hijab.

Kiran Malik-Khan is the Director, Stakeholder Relations for the United Way of Fort McMurray. A freelance journalist, poet, communications/social media specialist, and a community leader, she has written hundreds of stories about Fort McMurray – highlighting multicultural causes, unique individuals, and fun events. A proud Muslim and Pakistani, she is the Co-founder/PR director of NorthWord, our region’s first/only literary magazine. She is married to Mo, and they have two beautiful boys.
